About
Born in Pakistan, I bounced around the world from Poland to Dubai before moving to Toronto to study Economics and Cognitive Science at the University of Toronto—and I've been here ever since.
And now you're probably wondering how I made my way here. From a finance degree to UX Design— yeah, quite a big transition. Well, before becoming a User Experience Designer, I was actually a licensed Portfolio Manager at Wealthsimple, providing clients with unbiased investment and financial advice. For over 6 years, I’ve spoken to users – learned about their goals, motivations and frustrations.
Overtime, the solutions you can offer at a customer success level feel like bandaids rather than a cure. I wanted to be a part of crafting the experience myself. Taking my learnings from years of listening to and empathizing with users, and designing preventative measures and solutions for the problems they experience.
When I’m not working, you can find me running a podcast called Brown Girl Problems, focused on building community with other South Asian women, discussing topics that are rarely considered in our spaces like mental health, relationships, money and more. Or you might find me hanging out with my labradoodle, Koda, whose favourite hobby is to cause trouble while looking cute!
